Transtronic was founded in 1990. Its mission is to develop quality electronic power converters for specific needs. Initial applications were aimed at providing DC to AC inverters to supply on-board locomotive equipment (on-board refrigerators, pump motors, air conditioning and heating motors and compressors).

Specific knowledge of the railway environment and the founders' expertise have enabled the company to effectively penetrate this market. Drawing upon this know-how, the firm has designed devices that satisfy the requirements and extreme application conditions particular to this market, such as vibration and operating temperatures extremes.

Little by little, the company has carved itself a share of this market by meeting its clients' needs and requirements while earning their trust.

The company initially developed small converters (300 VA) with the intention of eventually designing products with greater capacity. Transtronic now markets products with capacities on the order of 35 kVA.

Conflict Mineral Policy

In August 2012, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the Final Rule regarding the sourcing of conflict minerals, known as 3TG (Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten and Gold), as defined in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Section 1502.
